Where Now?

Maxie has finally left. I'm sad to see her go. She was like a beacon of happiness in this place. She brought more laughter to Tall Grass than we'd seen in years. The writing's been on the wall ever since her and Mayor Klein's marriage fell apart. Klein's like a completely different person these days - very sullen and withdrawn. It's almost like he caught some strange new disease from Chalk Peak. Ever since he went on that failed hunt... he's not been quite right. I worry for the future of Tall Grass. Dad's not here anymore, Uncle Rodney is gone too. The younger people are leaving in their droves, all except for Mark... Where do we go from here?
